Launching under the auspices of Jordan Brands educational impact program, the Air Jordan 2 Retro "H" Wings pays tribute to Howard H White, Vice President of Jordan Brand and the founder of Believe to Achieve, a traveling seminar dedicated to youth empowerment. Michael Jordans sophomore signature shoe sports a white leather upper with a feathery graphic on the midfoot overlay. Contrasting green accents land on the Nike-branded back tab and the retro Wings logo embossed on the tongue. In addition to an H emblazoned on the sockliner, the same block letter can be seen underneath the semi-translucent heel counter. Lightweight cushioning is provided by a polyurethane midsole, painted black and fitted with an encapsulated Air-sole unit.
